When the Titanic sank in 1912, the news shook people worldwide. The world's largest cruise ship was destroyed by an iceberg and a bumbling crew.
We all know the story of the Titanic and its fall, but what do we know of the iceberg ruin? It is a question that a teacher in England wanted to answer.
According to Professor Grant Bigg of the University of Sheffield, the iceberg (considered one shown in the photo below), was at least 400 feet long. It was also estimated to affect 1.5 million tonnes.

This is considerably smaller than used to be according to Professor Bigg. The iceberg weighed more than 75 million tons and was 1700 feet long in its first form.

Using the information from a computer model, Biggs concluded that the iceberg probably formed from snow that fell there over 100,000 years.

According to weather patterns that Biggs has worked with the fatal iceberg was probably melted in the North Atlantic for months before the Titanic along .

Going even further his research, he was able to trace the origin of the iceberg somewhere near Greenland Qassimiut & rsquo ;. s southwest coast

I did not know that icebergs could drag on for so long. It's always pretty amazing what scientists can do with the technology they have at their disposal today.
