What Thomas Edison made to show the world the dangers of electricity is Insane -

At the turn of the century, the US was locked in an ideological battle over the future of the electricity network in the nation. Both parts treated with direct current and alternating current. Although both forms of power deliver electricity, they do it differently. Thomas Edison was a firm believer in the DC, while George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla were in favor of the use of alternating current.

As a way of discrediting competitors, Edison held several public events during which he tried to show the alleged dangers of using alternating current. He did it by electrocuting and killing a number of animals with technology. The biggest and most controversial of these events took place on Coney Island in New York back in 103. At this event, Edison electrocuted and killed a 36-year-old circus elephant known as Topsy .

cameras were rolling so that future generations would be able to remember the cruelty of Edison.

Despite cruel Edison waterfalls, AC won and is the same system we use for the transmission of electricity today. The story of Topsy is just another example of the cruelty that goes into animal testing, and a reminder that there is always more than meets the eye when it comes to historical figures.
