Artist Bryan Edmiston makes his living by answering 911 calls. As you can imagine, this work becomes quite dark. "I hear some of the worst things humans can do to another," he said. And after that day, it is not surprising that Edmiston need to find a way to release all this negativity.

Edmiston believes his art of counterpoint to his job & mdash; happy, colorful, funny and full of good memories. "I try to carve things that are innocent and joyful things that people have fond memories of," he said, explaining why so many of his pieces feature pop culture icons like the Beatles and Walter White .

Edmiston chose pencils after seeing the work of a colleague Etsy seller. Pencils evoke memories of creativity of children, so they seemed like the natural choice.
The rods are carefully carved using a sharp blade, and additional colors are added by melting pieces of other pencils and paint the wax up.

Currently, Edmiston still working full time, but the sculpture pencils is definitely her passion. In the future, he would be able to devote more time to his craft.
