Halloween approaching, it's time once again to exit horror movies! They are fun any time of the year, but they are especially fun when you curl up with (or hide under) a large blanket with some friends. Or alone ... if you dare.
There are so many horror films and unfortunately many of them are pretty terrible. Do not get me wrong, I like a terrible horror film from time to time. There's something satisfying to laugh at something that was obviously intended to frighten.
But there are only so many tropes of horror movies that you can see before they begin to get bored. Creepy little girls in white baby dolls, flash cuts, jump alerts and oozing black substances older. With so many films under normal there, it can get disappointing when you are in the mood of fear.
So we've compiled a list of some of the best and most scary movies we've ever seen. We go on a lot of classics, because you've probably heard of them. Instead, we including short films and movies that may not be traditional "horror" movies, but are scary anyway.
1. The Haunting , Robert Wise, 1963
2. owners , Ti West, 2011

a hotel with a ghost known legend is about to close. Two ghost hunting employees, only for the last night of the hotel, are determined to find ghosts before having to find new jobs. And they do it ... somehow. This is another film that is more psychological than just things popping and screams, and it requires thought. Director Ti West has said in interviews that he is not content to let the public in too. Instead, he brought along for the ride without the advantage of determining what actually happens.
3. Paranormal Activity , Oren Peli, 07
Empire
No, wait, listen to me. Ignore this film became a franchise with about one billion suites. The original movie is actually pretty good. It is a found footage movie the two chronic removal of Micah and Katie in a new home and how they face ... when things start happening. It is a slow movie pace, with little in the way of alerts or special effects, but what it offers is effective. There is also an interesting take on the genre "haunted house" with people, rather than space, be haunted. Skip the suites, however. They are not worth it.
4. The Orphanage , JA Bayona, 07
TooScaryToWatch
a couple moves into a former orphanage hoping to restore it and make it into a home for disabled children. When they arrive, their young son Simon begins to make friends, especially a little boy named Tomas. The problem is, no one can see Tomas. As the film unfolds, secrets about Tomas, Simon, and became orphanage unveiled. While there are elements of horror, and the film is cooling and suspense, but bringing it's fascinating history. It is also produced by Guillermo del Toro, it is visually striking as well.
5. The Conspiracy , James Wan, 2013
scifinow
a family of seven movements in a quaint old house. When things start to get scary, they call famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Then things get really scary. This film was shot and styled like a classic 70s movie of horror. This is not the way of gore, violence, sex, or even to swear, but received an R rating just because it's really scary. It is also better than LIGHTYEARS Insidious Wan films.
6. Event Horizon , Paul WS Anderson 1997
Via Joanna Parypinski
the crew of a spaceship discovers a ghost ship out Jupiter who disappeared after the generation and capture of a black hole artificial. The problem with the creation of black holes is that you might open in a dimension of pure chaos, but the rescue crew do not realize. What follows is the descent into hell both figurative and literal for the crew. This is not a film for children, with a considerable amount of violence and gore. And while it is scary, true horror of the film comes from the impending disaster, the isolation of space, and each of the personal demons of crew members.
7. Jug Face , Chad Crawford Kinkle 2013

this southern Gothic tale is not what you expect. Whatever you expect, you're probably wrong. The movie centers on a rural, isolated community that loves "the pit," a hole in the ground exuding a supernatural force ... and requires human sacrifice. Again, all you think now you're as bad. It is a sorry piece sinister character-driven with an own mythology.
8. The Moth Diaries , Mary Harron, 2011
Japan Times
This film is "horror" in the traditional sense, inspiring Gothic novels of the 19th century. When a newcomer befriends his best friend, pupil of the boarding school Rebecca fights with the feeling that something is not quite right about this new girl. Or maybe she's just jealous? Using the classic vampire tale as its foundation, the film is also an exploration of friendships teen girls. It is an interesting starting the vampire basic story. Vampire fans should take a look
9. Alien Ridley Scott 1979

"But wait," you say, "is a movie film science fiction!" Yes it is, but it is more scientific horror than science fiction. He is described as a "slasher movie in space" and director Scott knew from the start that fear was the feeling that he wanted to inspire. The crew of a mining ship encounters a strange distress call, and when they investigating an alien life form sneaks aboard their ship. this is the kind of movie that scared because of what you not see and claustrophobic settings add to the feeling of inevitable misfortune.
10. "In Chambers," Aleksander Nordaas 2011

This is a short! Clocking in at just 10 minutes, you can watch it on your lunch break for a grim afternoon. This short involves infamous men with medical equipment and a large band sound. Explaining more would give too much away.
So grab that popcorn and dim the lights. In fact, a better idea, you can keep them on for them!
