Nikesh Shukla is a novelist in the UK with a new book, Meatspace published this past summer. Like any aspiring author, Shukla was eager to promote his new novel in any way he could. That's when Shukla and his friends came up with the idea to set a fried lamb chop and a GoPro camera to a hot air balloon.
The balloon launched without a hitch on June 14 of this year. Unfortunately, the cold temperatures of the upper atmosphere destroyed the sensors on the GPS device. When the lamb chop and the camera returned to Earth, Shukla could not find them. The lamb chop was lost in the English countryside for 5 months.
Fortunately for Shukla, a couple of laborers 82 miles of launching the camera found with intact film. Here is the delicious lamb chop to work.
Once Shukla and his team recovered the camera, they found he had captured about 100 minutes of footage.
video included ascension amazing lamb chop through the atmosphere of Earth.
go where no lamb chop has gone before.
the ball brought the lamb chop about 100,000 feet into the atmosphere of Earth before bursting.
After obtaining the camera , Shukla and his team cut the recovered images together. The result is one of the best trailers of books I know.
