If you try to hide something, you should consider to throw in the ocean. Although this is not the safest place, the chances of it being found there are relatively thin.
That being said, having a slim chance of happening is a far cry from having no chance. Just ask the man who made this strange discovery in France three years ago.

After police were alerted, officers searched the area and made several other bones to the surface. DNA tests confirmed they belonged to the missing persons who had been executed for over 20 years.

But they were at a loss to explain the skull. The officers were only able to determine that it belonged to a man of 50 years. Efforts to connect to known pedophiles in the area were unsuccessful.

the only explanation the police could come up with was that they had somehow fallen on the cemetery submarine of a serial killer.
