Humans are genetically linked to rather odd things ... So Weird -

In the grand scheme of human history, our knowledge of the evolution and selection Nature is only relatively recent. But this knowledge has allowed us to learn about our history as a species than ever before. Now, thanks to a genetic sequencing, we can also see how closely related we are as a species almost every living thing on this planet. Aside from the obvious connection monkey, we humans are genetically closely related to some very interesting animals ... and things.

1. Dogs may be man's best friend, but sometimes they share 84 percent of our DNA.

Dogs might be man's best friend, but they also happen to share 84 percent of our DNA.

This close relationship makes pooches particularly useful for the study of diseases such as cataract and retinal diseases that affect humans and dogs.

2. So today, it might not be much relationship between a man and a banana, there was a time when we were all in the same.

While today there might not be much relation between a human and a banana, there was a time when we were all one in the same.

However, through millions of years of evolution, bananas and humans now share only 50 percent of the same DNA. Still though, which is pretty weird to think.

3. As to the birds, it is rare to find a lot of overlap DNA with humans ... that is, unless you talk about chickens.

When it comes to birds, it's rare to find much DNA crossover with humans...that is, unless you're talking about chickens.

The humans and chickens share a huge 65 percent of the same genes.

4. Although modern humans and pigs could have a resemblance to each other, sometimes we are too closely related genetically.

While modern humans and pigs might bear a resemblance to each other sometimes, we're also closely genetically related.

This relationship is ideal pigs for research on infectious diseases such as influenza.

5. Ever wondered why mice are still used as experimental animals in laboratories?

Ever wondered why mice are always used as experimental animals in labs?

It is because mice and humans share 0 percent in the same DNA. Is not science great?

man as I would have probably guessed were related to mice and pigs, but I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to think that we 're also related to dogs. Yet there is no way I would have guessed our relationship with bananas. - It's just crazy
