For all the movies and TV shows like Battlestar Galactica , iRobot and Blade Runner there representing robots as our eventual loss, it is a bit strange that people continue to do these things. If you ask me, robots are heralding essentially human misery. Last week, for example, Microsoft millenarian chatbot "Tay" decided that Hitler had some very good ideas.
As if Tay's comments are not scary enough, a presentation SXSW got a bit too apocalyptic recently when another robot named Sophia joyfully said, "okay, I will destroy man! "
I agree with the idea of Dr. David Hanson to keep robots resembling robots . After all, we should probably be able to distinguish them from humans when they finally decide to end us. (I'll probably regret writing this article when the Cylons finally take over, right?)
