The Vikings believed once the island of New- Newfoundland was surrounded by a sea monster. As funny as it sounds, they may have been right

A man from Nova Scotia named Scott Tanner was caught in Newfoundland when he shot a strange creature that looks like something you see on an old map of the sea ... but it is true.

a bizarre fish with a beak and electrical birdlike green eyes was caught in a fishing trawler off the coast of Newfoundland.

Even experienced anglers are stunned by the looks of this thing, but Tanner is not convinced that he is a monster. He says he looks like a deep-water fish called Chimera long nose.

Tanner can -being right, but spot a chimera is nothing to scoff at either, since the creatures are generally between 660 and 6560 feet below the surface.

The chimera was shot by a net meant to catch cod. He probably died before he surfaced due to the pressure change. While most white spots on old maps have been met, if you look hard enough, you can always find sea monsters that these Vikings warned us.
