When you think of ghosts and ghouls, it's a creature you do not be afraid of Dracula. I mean, everyone knows vampires are not real ... right? Well, maybe not human vampires (yet), but that does not mean there are not some vampire-like animals.

Here are six real life vampire creatures that you need to monitor. Especially # 2; one is scary with a capital "C"

1.) The Vampire Bat.

This flight leech South America should be feared. There are two different species of vampire bats in the world, and both are from South America. The species less terrifying likes to feed on bird blood. The other species, most common has the blood of other mammals. If so, which includes humans. Be sure to watch your back on your next trip to South America.

2.) Bloodsucking Finch.

The Galapagos Islands are famous for their Finch variety of species. On the islands is a species of finch called the Vampire Finch. These little birds will be hell, every once in a while, get the thirst of birds' blood. They come and peck back enough to draw blood and feast on what it can before being driven out of other birds. I'm not sure I can watch the finches in the same way.

This is the finch in action. Ouch. This does not look like fun for the other bird.

3.) The fish Candiru.

3.) The Candiru Fish.

This is a small aquatic leech terrifying beast. The candiru is a type of catfish from South America who likes the taste of blood. Back in 1960, a researcher decided to test a theory about these fish, leaving one of them suck the blood from his hand. I can not even imagine how painful point was.

4.) mosquitoes.

4.) Mosquitoes.

Some leeches the most common in the world (not to mention they like to spread deadly diseases). In fact, they are the most deadly creature on Earth, killing about 45 million people each year. Mosquitoes cause the death of the female diseases leave behind after they suck your blood.

5.) Mosquito Bloodsuckers.

5.) Mosquito Bloodsuckers.

maybe you can take solace in the fact that there is a species of tiny midges called Culicoides anophelis , blood-sucking mosquitoes. How's that for justice? The downside is that these flies also carry disease, they spread the mosquito that spreads to people from mosquito bites.

See one of these little gnats in action.

6.) The lamprey.

6.) The Lamprey.

The lamprey is by far the one of the most terrifying creatures still exist. Although it looks like a horrible alien, lamprey is really just a fish. He uses his intimidating teeth to fasten on and suck the blood of fish. Ouch. They are also quite plentiful creatures that can survive in the waters of water and fresh salt.

I knew lamprey leech was terrifying, but now finches are sucking blood! I think it's safe to say that vampires take on the animal kingdom and humans are next. Time to refuel garlic.
