Can you have a house that is serious, austere and modern while being breathtaking and luxurious? According to Greek architects Laertis Antonios Ando and Pantelis Vassiliou Kampouropoulos Works of the OPA, you can certainly. Both have created models for a house called Casa Brutale, a house built inside of a cliff face overlooking the Aegean Sea.
The exposed concrete and geometric shapes of this house have been created in the so-called Brutalist style of architecture, which has a large number of massive, of heavy forms and industrial materials. However, it is also an interpretation of the surrounding landscape, and was inspired by nurturing qualities of the Earth.
The whole house is nestled in the rocks of the cliff.

In addition to the house (ground level), there is a pool. The pool also features a side glass, so you can feel like you are swimming in infinity.

The pool above the house allows natural light to flood the house, and also acts as an insulating barrier.

Because the house is underground, the walls are insulated against the elements, stay cool during the day and warm at night.
The interior is kept minimal.

Vassiliou and Kampouropoulos describe their design as "a geometric translation of the landscape" that seeks to create a harmonious balance between man and earth. currently, Casa Brutale is still in its design phase, which means it has not yet been built. so if you have been looking for a seaside beach house, perhaps be in the Aegean sea, let Casa Brutale stay on your mind.
