Too often we allow the idea of perfection to infiltrate our minds and convince us because we have some imperfections (or perhaps more than a few), we are less worthy of happiness. PLUMP , a style magazine positive body life based in the Philippines, is encouraging women worldwide to focus their attention and their own so-called faults.
Their campaign is called #IAMFLAWSOME. Flawsome, a term coined by the author Meredith Marple, means one who simply embrace what the world tells us are our flaws and we know we're awesome anyway! In fact, she notes, they make us all beautiful, unique individuals that we have grown to be.
To demonstrate, they invited a group of women to pose for a series of photographs stripped-down and discuss times in their lives when they decided to stop letting their insecurities get in the way of enjoying of life.
