There is no place on earth quite like the bottom the ocean. Water covers over 70% of the Earth and you never know what you'll find below the surface. While exploring the Mariana Trench in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, a group of scientists came face to face with the deepest fish residential never discovered. It is fascinating and strangely equal parts terrifying.

This is the ghostly fish that scientists have discovered. It was photographed by a deep sea lander vehicles of the team.

If I knew not that it was true, I suspect this "ghost fishing" was kind of a marketing coup for a new science fiction film.

animals living at the bottom of the ocean trenches tend to be a bit .. .impair. The lack of light, food sources, and high-pressure environment can make great things to evolution. Most are pale sickly creatures, but the ghost fish takes the cake. Hoping that I never meet one in person.
