Chemical warfare is a major threat to our modern world. People constantly afraid of the threat of an atomic bomb, hydrogen bomb and a plethora of other chemical attack made that could hurt, injure, and even kill countless people. Unfortunately, it seems that it does not need to be an attack that people are in danger.
This was the scene around some small towns outside Barcelona, Spain. A chemical explosion at a plant Simar has created a massive orange chemical cloud. The cloud had residents hiding in their homes in fear for their safety. One of the chemicals found in the cloud is nitric acid, which is incredibly dangerous when inhaled.

residents were first asked to stay inside, though restrictions have since been lifted because of the dispersion of the chemicals. Still, it's a scary situation for anyone to see. It really makes you want to move away from any place that can be home to a chemical plant. If only Homer Simpson were there to keep people safe from Spain, I'm sure things would have been different.
