sometimes against our better judgment, we do things that we know will absolutely end badly for us. It is difficult to know exactly why we do this, but it seems to be a trait that most humans share. In August 03, 46-year-old Brian Douglas Wells was probably pondering the same question. Before the month was out, Wells died ... and he would be killed by a bomb attached to his neck.
For almost 30 years, Wells (pictured below) worked as a delivery driver for pizza. He began his career after dropping out of high school. By all accounts, he was good at what he does and was a valued employee.

The afternoon of August 28, 03, Wells received a call to deliver two pizzas on the road. It was a false order placed by Wells soon to be accomplices, Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong and Kenneth Barnes.

The plan was to Wells to rob a local bank that Barnes could hire a professional hitman to kill the father of Diehl-Armstrong. Diehl-Armstrong would then hopefully in a considerable legacy.

At the meeting before the flight, the Wells accomplices him with a bomb to wear around his neck. When Wells learned that the bomb was real, he struggled but was overpowered so the bomb could be attached with force.

Barnes and Diehl- Armstrong also gave Wells a homemade shotgun for use within the bank, if things got out of control.

However, things Wells went wrong for not long after entering the bank. Police arrived while he was still there with the money. He warned that he had a bomb strapped to his neck and said he was put there against his will.

police took Wells outside and called the bomb squad. However, minutes before their arrival, Diehl-Armstrong triggered the bomb remotely. The explosion blew a hole in the chest of the man and he was dead within three minutes.
By that time, the press were on the scene and the cameras captured the moment of the explosion. WARNING. The following video is very graphic and may be upsetting to some readers. Proceed with caution if you choose to watch it.
It took until 2010 for Barnes and Diehl-Armstrong eventually stand trial for their crimes. Fortunately, they both already in prison for independent crimes over the past years. They were both convicted for their role in the death of Wells.
