In Greek mythology, the Phoenix is known for creating new life from the ashes his previous death. So when a woman raised almost a dead fish in perfect health, she new exactly what to name it. The incredible story of the Phoenix fighter (aka a Betta fish) will inspire you to see the rebirth of the potential even in most creatures down-and-out. It was a lot of work from Katie, but when you see the beauty becomes Phoenix, you will realize that it was worth it.
While in his pet shop in search of dog food, Katie L. noticed a betta fish floating sadly at the top of his cup and took at the counter of the store.

But as she walks, she felt something slam against his hand inside of the cup. It seems that the fish was not dead yet.
Katie took home fish and gave medicines. After a few days, he began to show signs of life, but not much. Katie dutifully named this SadFish.

He not until after four days SadFish was quite healthy to eat anything. After a week, his fins began to push and it has become much less sad.

By Day 15, SadFish was almost unrecognizable as pathetic Katie first creature looked in the pet store. His new fiery red color called for a new name.

This is when Katie started calling SadFish 'Phoenix'.
From there, Phoenix began to embrace her new identity as its mythological finnage grew ...

for the first time SadFish slammed against the hand of Katie, she knew that this creature was worth saving. As she said the Dodo, "Animals are individuals, and each has its own personality. They all deserve a chance."
