Satanism is a real belief system practiced in the world. In reality it is just another harmless religion. However, this religion (as all other major religions) led followers to commit truly heinous and brutal crimes. These 10 notorious crimes were committed by Satanists around the world, and they are really shocking.
1. Ricky Kasso

Ricky Kasso believed wholeheartedly that he acted in accordance with the will of the dark Lord. Kasso said that Satan spoke to him by a raven, ordering Kasso to murder someone. It should also be noted that Kasso struggled with drug addiction and mental illness. To carry out the orders of his master, Kasso lured a friend, Gary Lauwers, in the woods. Authorities took the cult in 04, and the leaders have each received prison sentences.

Elyse Pahler was by all accounts a teenager with a successful life ahead. That was until she was brutally murdered, and his body desecrated by hate members, a fledgling Californian metal band. Three members of the band have attracted Pahler at home, where they killed him and performed satanic rituals with his body. Police said the group had repeatedly violated his body for more than a year before being arrested. Pahler family attempted to sue the heavy metal band Slayer for allegedly inspiring the killers of their daughter. The complaint was rejected by the court.
7. The Ripper Crew

The Ripper Crew consisted of four serial killers. Between 1981 and 1982, the Ripper Crew stalked and murdered prostitutes in the Chicago area. The group would pick up prostitutes back to their apartment, and murder. During the murder, a member would read the Satanic Bible. Once the victim was dead, the crew would desecrate the corpse and eat it.
8. Richard Ramirez

Richard Ramirez was a serial killer known as the Night Stalker. From 1984 to 1985, Ramirez terrorized parts of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Ramirez has fueled panic in a satanic killer on the loose, as pentagrams on the body of his victim and often left on the walls. In all, he killed 14 people using a variety of brutal and random methods. When he was finally arrested, Ramirez told police he was "a minion of Satan sent to Earth to commit atrocities for the devil."
9. Rodrigo Orias Gallardo

Rodrigo Orias Gallardo was a black metal fan Chile who committed one of the most heinous satanic murders in recent memory. Gallardo, a dedicated Satanist, was a mark of the pentagram on the left side of his body and several satanic tattoos. His target was a priest named Father Faustino Gazziero. Gallardo attended Mass and waited until the priest had finished services. That's when he walked calmly to the Father Gazziero and slit his throat. Gallardo then stabbed several times with the same knife and smeared with blood priest. Even stranger is the fact that Gallardo was not under the influence of any drugs at the time.
10. Miranda Barbour

Miranda Barbour and her husband were known as Elytte CraigsList killers. After their arrest for the brutal death of a man, Miranda began to make claims that it was a successful serial killer with 22 murders to his name. She says she started killing at the age of 13, and each death was Satan. His family disputes that claim, but that did not stop the police to investigate the alleged crimes.

There is no doubt about how religious freedom is a fundamental human right. When that freedom leads to savage acts of violence, then perhaps it is time to draw the line. Again, I do not doubt for a second that many (if not all) of these killers used Satanism to hide behind mental illness.
