10 things I learned watching Christopher Nolan's Interstellar -

last epic by Christopher Nolan, Interstellar recently hit theaters. So far, he is greeted by moviegoers and critics. Space travel trip takes the audience through wormholes, other galaxies, and explores the scientific theories that did not exist in movies before. You can learn a lot from this film, and what are the lessons I took from my viewings.

Warning :. Slight spoilers ahead

1. I know nothing about science.

I know nothing about science.

interstellar movie

I graduated from a respectable university with a degree in communication and social psychology. My job is writing posts for this beautiful site. Whenever I encounter complex scientific theories, equations, or practices, they blow my mind. Even when the film tries to simplify these complex theories, I still do not understand them. It made me feel pretty stupid

2. I do not want to be there to the end of the world.

I don't want to be around for the end of the world.

huffingtonpost

I guess it kind of goes without saying, but I used to be really interested. I thought that everything that happens in the future years would be interesting. After seeing the Apocalypse fitted in front of me, I'm more interested to know and I hope I'm not here for that.

3. Space travel is frightening.

Space travel is frightening.

Throughout the film, the things that could go wrong in space are terrifying. One of the characters explains that even only a few inches spacecraft separates the millions of miles of nothingness. Just think about the vast universe made me feel incredibly small and scared.

4. I can still get emotional during a movie.

I can still get emotional during a movie.

Yeah, I said. Several parts of this film that get me emotional. Not only is it a great movie science fiction, but it is the story of a father and his family, space exploration, survival of the human race, and even romance. There are emotionally compelling field devices, and I must say, Christopher Nolan, you got me. I have not cried in a movie since The Lion King , but I found myself waterlogging in several different parts of this film.

5. I could never be an astronaut.

I could never be an astronaut.

Many children want to be an astronaut. Sure, it sounds cool when you are a child. As an adult watching films scientifically accurate as Interstellar , I would never subject myself to that. I get wrong and end up vomiting in my helmet. It sounds like torture, and I could never do it. You have my respect astronauts. Kudos, dudes.

6. Time dilation.

Time dilation.

youtube

One of the main premises in the heart of the plot of the film is the theory of time dilation . Astronauts at the cinema age much slower than their counterparts on Earth, due to the effects of time dilation. This is something theorized by Albert Einstein. It dictates that people traveling closer to the speed of light, time passes more slowly, something that has been proven experimentally on Earth. While the inhabitants of the Earth would age at a rapid pace, you could not grow old at all.

7. Wormholes.

Wormholes.

businessinsider

The theory behind wormholes in physics is amazing. At the first explanation in the film, I do not understand very well, so I went to the Internet to do research on Google. If you imagine the universe is a flat sheet of paper, you can travel between two points by moving in a straight line. If you fold the paper so that the points of contact through it and then make a hole, you can reach that point faster. Wormholes exist in theory, but no one knows how they could be kept open so that anyone can travel through it. It is unlikely that they can exist naturally in the universe. It would take a huge mass as a neutron star, creating a bend in time to grow into the "essential" and meet another such tunnel to the other side. So far, nothing shows no signs of doing so.

8. The universe is a big place.

The universe is a big place.

spinoff

I live in New York City. It is a big city and traveling is a problem. However, Manhattan Island is only about 2 miles wide. The universe is infinitely greater than that. The craziest part is that scientists who know much more about this stuff than you or I could ever do not know how big it is. They can theorize all they want, but they still do not know exactly.

9. There is a ton of strange scientific theories.

There are a ton of weird scientific theories.

mashable

Spaghettification is a real term in science. There is also a theory known as "The Theory of Everything." Why I never learned about these things when I was in high school or even college physics? This would have me more interested in science. I just learned the laws of Newton and was on my way. This film made me more committed to science and scientific theories ever.

10. There are a lot of scientists do not understand space.

There is a lot scientists don't understand about outer space.

Wired

We do not know if we are alone in the universe, if something can create wormholes , what would happen if you got near a black hole, and so on. There are many things that humans can never or will never experience it almost certainly will remain forever a mystery to us. Hopefully we develop advanced technologies in the future where we can finally understand these things. Until then, we'll all probably end up dying without knowing it through space would be like. It's kind of a bummer, but also a kind of relief. We will not have to face such a high pressure situation.

There is much to learn and theorize about outer space, and we must continue to push forward our knowledge and Explorer. Seeing this film made my thirst for knowledge grow, and he also entertained the hell out of me. We hope that you will leave with the same wonder of the film.
