For Americans, some cultural traditions practiced in other countries seem weird (like ours to them) . We simply do not grow up with these traditions, so we have little or no understanding of their origins or why they are so important. This is often the case when people of different cultures are exposed to the customs of other people for the first time.
And this Spanish tradition is certainly one of those strange activities. The day of the Catholic feast of Corpus Christi, the Spanish mothers bring their babies into the streets and place them on mattresses so that men can jump over. It's a big party, but what does it mean?
The festival is called El Salto del Colacho, or jumping the Devil. To carry out this tradition, mothers frontline babies on their comfortable mattresses.

After that, the men dressed in elaborate costumes, stand on the stage. They are supposed to represent the devil.

These men jump over babies. The spiritual significance of this law is that it is told to clean babies of their original sin.

This looks like a ton of fun, but I'm not sure if I believe a group of strange men jumping over my child. That said, it's pretty amazing to have a glimpse of what life is like for other people around the world.
