Alternative medicine can be quite controversial, and people tend to have strong opinions about it on both sides. Whatever your point of view, however, I think we can all agree that some of what passes for "drug" in this category is a bit odd. Take the practice of cupping therapy, for example.
Fire cupping is an ancient form of therapy that is supposed to promote healing and improve circulation.

The process involves a fuel-soaked cotton ball being lit on fire. In one fluid motion, the flame is placed inside the glass cup and the cup is placed on the skin. By removing oxygen, it creates a tighter seal.

After treatment, the cups can leave behind some nasty bruises for a few weeks. For those who believe they benefit from cupping, it is a small price to pay.

Because of the bulge can cause damage to the skin, it is recommended to space your sessions. If you do ... well, bad things can happen.

This is a lesson that man from Sichuan, China , learned the hard way. Below a picture of her taken back to the hospital after 63 years of daily sessions underwent suction cups for a full month.
According to the man people in the shop where he had treatment said that the only way for him to heal his high cholesterol and other minor ailments was to continue treatment for a full month.
on day 10, the hollow areas were blisters, but that did not stop him. The man simply broken bulbs, washed with salt water, and returned for more treatment. Near the end of his treatment, he collapsed while walking home. It appears that the bulbs have been infected and the infection had become so serious that he needed to go to hospital. If he had waited longer, he would have succumbed to blood poisoning.

If you believe in the healing power of suction cups or not, do not do it every day for a month. It's just a stupid idea. Once every two weeks seems a lot to me.
